Art Curtain Drawn by Studio Ghibli Art Staff During Preservation and Repair Work on National Important Cultural Property "Uchiko-za" [Ehime] (Published October 17, 2025) | Nankai Broadcasting NEWS NNN
Summary
An art curtain drawn by staff from Studio Ghibli's art department has been unveiled at the National Important Cultural Property, Uchiko-za in Ehime Prefecture, which has been undergoing preservation and repair work since January of this year, including seismic reinforcement. The artwork features local scenery of Uchiko Town, based on paintings that the Ghibli staff created and donated to the town during a visit in 2011 for drawing practice. The town decided to transfer these drawings onto a curtain to be displayed during the construction period. The preservation work on Uchiko-za is expected to be completed in 2028, and the art curtain is scheduled to remain on display until around the end of March next year.
