Axion Architects Design Plus has launched "Kelly," an experiential design cafe centered around American vintage design, in Ishikawa-cho, Yokohama. Named after Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, the cafe offers original blend coffee and food inspired by the 1950s. The immersive space was art-directed by Yukiyoshi Tsubota, an art director active in film and drama, in collaboration with a visual arts team and mortar sculptors. They focused on achieving "authentic texture" and a "space with a story," utilizing details like exposed brick, heavy retro-antique arches, and aging techniques to replicate a scene from a movie. The cafe plans to actively cooperate with location shoots to further promote the appeal of American vintage.
