21 Finalists Selected for the 29th TARO Award
Summary
The 29th Taro Okamoto Memorial Award for Contemporary Art (TARO Award), established to honor artists who carry on Taro Okamoto's spirit and deliver sharp messages to contemporary society with free perspectives, has announced its 21 finalists. This year saw 644 submissions, from which 21 groups were selected as finalists. The selected artists include Tsuyoshi Anzai, Masahiro Usami, and Ryo Ota, among others. These finalists will undergo a final review, with the winners of the Taro Okamoto Award (one person), the Toshiko Okamoto Award (one person), and Special Prizes (several people) to be announced at the award ceremony on January 30, 2026. The TARO Award has previously discovered artists such as Tsuyoshi Ozawa, Akira Yamaguchi, and Sachiko Kazama.
