【Crowdfunding】University Seminar House 60th Anniversary "Unit House Restoration Project"
Summary
To commemorate its 60th anniversary, the University Seminar House has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the "Unit House Restoration Project" to restore and preserve its Unit Houses, which are facing the risk of disappearing. These houses were originally conceived as 100 units intended to foster a close community among students living and learning together in nature, symbolizing the innovative start of the seminar house. Due to changing needs, most have been lost, leaving only a dozen.
The project aims to connect this disappearing original landscape to the future by restoring at least one unit house. Donations will directly fund the restoration work on Unit House No. 6, led by an architect familiar with the original design, and materials for self-executed repairs on Unit Houses No. 5 and No. 7. The fundraising campaign is open until March 31, 2026.
