Exhibition "Future of Nostalgia" Held at Terada Warehouse G Building, Featuring 21 Artists from the AlUla Artist-in-Residence Program in Saudi Arabia's Ancient City
Summary
The exhibition titled "Future of Nostalgia," showcasing the work of 21 artists who participated in the artist-in-residence program in the ancient Saudi Arabian city of AlUla, will be held at Terada Warehouse G Building in Tennozu, Tokyo, from November 5th to 16th, coinciding with Art Week Tokyo. This exhibition is organized by Arts AlUla, established under the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) for the protection and development of AlUla, and the French Agency for the Development of AlUla in Paris (AFALULA), which supports the RCU. The "AlUla Artist in Residence Program" was founded by these two entities in 2021 as a platform for both local and international artists to explore and experiment creatively in the historic region of AlUla. Artists reside and create in facilities like "Mabiti AlUla" among palm groves and new accommodations in the AlJadidah district. While initially focused on visual arts, the program expanded to include design in 2023 and has since hosted over 50 artists and designers.
