The Niigata City Art Museum is hosting the "40th Anniversary Opening Commemoration: The Nagasaka Collection - First Encounter with Western Paintings" exhibition starting November 1st (Saturday). The exhibition features 58 oil paintings selected from the collection of Mr. Tsuyoshi Nagasaka, a collector residing in Nagano City, focusing primarily on 17th-century Baroque art and 19th-century modern paintings. The displayed works cover various genres such as religious paintings, secular paintings, portraits, landscapes, and genre scenes from countries like Spain, Italy, France, the UK, and Russia, offering visitors a taste of European travel. The exhibition runs until January 12th (Monday/Holiday), and related events like lectures and gallery talks will be held. Joetsu Myoko Town Information is also offering a giveaway of 10 sets (20 tickets total) of invitation tickets for the exhibition.
