The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture will implement the "Welcome Youth" program again in 2026 to encourage young people (born on or after April 2, 2007, i.e., 18 and under) to engage with culture. During the period from March 1 to April 5, 2026, exhibitions at five metropolitan facilities—the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum—will be made free of charge for the target age group. Specific exhibitions at each venue are designated as free for the entire duration. Additionally, seven performances at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre between January 9 and March 1, 2026, are included, with 100 people being invited via lottery (applications close December 21). A digital stamp rally will also run concurrently during the "Welcome Youth" period.
