Ensemble Zone's contemporary dance piece, "Green Table 2017 Anthology," will be held at the Yamagata Citizens' Hall Small Hall. The work is newly created by Toshiko Okanobori, inspired by Kurt Jooss's 1932 piece, "La Table Verte (The Green Table)." While lacking a theatrical plot like the original Jooss work, it maintains the structure where dancers embody characters and their relationships build the world of the piece. This Yamagata version reinterprets the theme from a contemporary perspective to resonate with modern audiences, featuring a total of 40 performers, including participants from an open workshop. The performances are scheduled for November 23rd and 24th, 2025, with tickets priced at 3,000 yen for general admission.
