The Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting a screening of video works by Dennis Oppenheim, an exhibiting artist in the "Collection Exhibition 2025-II." The screening focuses on five videos created between 1970 and 1971, marking a shift in Oppenheim's focus from documenting Land Art to exploring his own body. The featured works include 《Air Pressure (Hand)》, which captures the effect of air pressure on skin; 《Nail Sharpening》, documenting the continuous sharpening of fingernails; 《Lead Sink For Sebastian》, showing a performance where a torch melts a lead pipe attached to his leg; 《Gingerbread Man》, involving eating a gingerbread figure; and 《Fusion: Tooth And Nail》, an experiment involving paint applied over teeth and nails. These works highlight the artist's deep interest in exploring the boundaries of physical transformation. The screening runs from November 18, 2025, to February 1, 2026, at the museum's Media Library and admission is free.
