The original artwork was created by Nihonga painter Takayoshi Sato, who is from Minamisoma City, and depicts a spirited, galloping white horse. The calligraphy used for the text is the posthumous writing of the late former Governor Isao Matsudaira, who has ties to the shrine. The standard ema costs 2,000 yen, while a dyed version featuring the characters 'Fukuju' (Good Fortune and Longevity) inscribed by the head priest Fumihiko Numazawa on the back costs 3,000 yen. Mail distribution and reservations are also accepted.
