This exhibition focuses on Japanese contemporary art from the 1990s to the present, showcasing about 70 works by 20 artists active on the global stage. The works explore themes such as "identity," "body," "history," and "globalized society," attempting to map contemporary experience like a "sea chart." A significant portion (about 40 pieces) comes from the museum's recent acquisitions, highlighting their active collecting efforts in contemporary Japanese art. Highlights include the re-exhibition of monumental installations by artists like Chie Matsui and Tomoaki Ishihara, as well as new works by artists including Koki Tanaka, Yuko Mohri, and Yukio Fujimoto.
