Disability x Design: How to Create Spaces for Learning?
Summary
This one-day participatory symposium is being held to foster the future relationship between "disability" and "design." The goal is for speakers and participants to collaboratively generate and share ideas regarding concrete curricula, sustainable mechanisms, and the environmental settings required for co-creation spaces with people with disabilities, aiming to find "seeds" applicable in learning environments nationwide. The event will be held both in person and online (YouTube live stream, Zoom meeting) and is free to attend, offering accessibility support such as sign language interpretation and transcription. The program features numerous experts active in design, art, and welfare, including Cognitive Designer Syunichi Suge, Director Kinuyo Nogami, and Design Researcher Keisuke Shimakage. A "Barrier-Free Map" project by Tama Art University students will also be showcased.
