Ibaraki Cultural Organizations Federation Celebrates 60th Anniversary; Prefectural Art Festival and Prefectural Art Exhibition Also Mark Milestones; Ceremony Held in Mito

A commemorative ceremony and celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the Ibaraki Prefectural Art Festival, the Ibaraki Cultural Organizations Federation (Bundenren), and the Prefectural Art Exhibition was held on November 6th at the Mito Keisei Hotel in Mito City, attended by about 300 related individuals. The Bundenren was established in 1966 when various cultural organizations in the prefecture united, leading to the inauguration of the Prefectural Art Festival. In the same year, the Prefectural Art Exhibition was also launched and is responsible for planning and managing the art exhibition segment of the festival. During the ceremony, Bundenren Chairman Taku Odabe expressed gratitude, stating that the 60 years of continuous activity were possible only through the cooperation of member organizations. Awards of appreciation were presented to 14 individuals and 47 organizations before the celebration proceeded with a toast led by Kasama City Mayor Nobuki Yamaguchi.
