The Takamatsu City Shioe Museum is holding a special exhibition titled "Takeo Matsumura: The Pleasure of Satoyama and Satohama." Takeo Matsumura, an artist residing in Kagawa Prefecture and a university professor, draws inspiration for his work from the familiar natural environment, seeking to express the residual feelings from sensory experiences in nature through his art. The exhibition will feature approximately 40 pieces, primarily drawings using pen and ink, as well as two-dimensional works in acrylic and oil paint, supplemented by three different types of three-dimensional works utilizing varied materials and techniques. The aim is to offer visitors an opportunity to re-acknowledge their own physical sensations as part of nature. The exhibition runs from December 16, Reiwa 7 (2025) to February 8, Reiwa 8 (2026), and will include a related gallery talk by the artist.
