Summary
On December 5, Reiwa 7, the Ukyo Fire Station of the Kyoto City Fire Department presented a Letter of Appreciation from the Station Chief to Mao Kakimi, a second-year student in the Design field of the Art Department at Saga University of Arts and Saga Junior College, for creating the cover design of the fire prevention sketchbook. The sketchbook aims to help children learn about the dangers of fire and the importance of caution by referencing the "Three Fire Prevention Pledges" under the theme "Everyone Be Careful About Fire." The cover designs have been created by students from Saga University of Arts and Saga Junior College since Heisei 23, with five students contributing this year. Kakimi's design was selected through votes from visitors, Ukyo Fire Station personnel, and fire brigade members. The completed sketchbooks will be distributed to kindergarten children visiting the fire station as part of ongoing efforts to reduce fires caused by fireworks and playing with fire.
