Sayaka Uehara: Even If All the Rubble Were Cleaned Away Without a Trace
Summary
This is a solo exhibition by the promising young photographer Sayaka Uehara, held as part of the Azamino Photo Annual 2026 at the Yokohama Civic Gallery Azamino, running from January 24 to February 22, 2026. Uehara, born in Okinawa in 1993, focuses her photographic practice on carefully capturing landscapes and traces that are continuous with daily life. The exhibition offers the first comprehensive overview of her nearly ten years of work, featuring four series: the color series "Sleeping Trees" (2016–2022), her latest work "Mae no Hama," and the monochrome series "Green Room" and color series "Green Days," both documenting her work in Taiwan. The new series "Mae no Hama," shot over three days around Memorial Day in 2025, will be publicly shown for the first time. Related events include an artist talk and a dialogue with photographer Yurie Nagashima.
