【Nation's First Joint Art Storage Facility】To be completed in FY2030 using BTO method / Aichi Prefecture
Summary
Aichi Prefecture has publicly released the basic plan for the "Aichi Prefecture Joint Art Storage Facility Project," addressing the impending storage capacity limits faced by the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Ceramics, and the Aichi University of the Arts. This joint facility will be the first of its kind in Japan. The prefecture plans to use the PFI BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) method, with design starting in FY2027 and completion targeted for FY2030. The new facility is planned to be equivalent to three stories, with a total floor area of approximately 8,000 square meters, ensuring about 5,700 square meters of storage space equivalent to the current three facilities. It will incorporate preservation and educational functions, including partial public viewing of the storage environment. The site selected is the former grounds of the Aichi Prefectural Tokoname High School in Tokoname City.
