The Taichisha Exhibition, an Otaru artists' association founded in 1925 (holding its first exhibition in 1926), played a central role in Hokkaido's art scene, with its founding members also establishing the Douten public exhibition. To mark the 100th anniversary of the first Taichisha exhibition in 2026, the Otaru City Museum of Art will host a special exhibition from January 24 to April 19, 2026. The exhibition will showcase works and materials from the museum's collection, highlighting the impact of Taichisha, its members, and contributors. A related Hammered Dulcimer concert is also scheduled during the exhibition period.
