The Toyota City Museum of Art is hosting the third phase of its 30th Anniversary Collection Exhibition, "VISION Stars and Star Charts," titled "Star Chart III: Individual Existence," running from January 6 to March 15, 2026. A major highlight is the display of Gerhard Richter's newly acquired three-dimensional work, 《8 Glass Plates》 (2012). The exhibition is structured across five rooms: starting with artists like Tomoaki Ishihara, Kodai Nakahara, Oscar Oiwa, and Noe Aoki who began their careers around the museum's opening; followed by the re-display of Tatsuo Miyajima's 《Counter Room》 after 27 years; the presentation of Richter's work alongside existing collections; a display of works by Norimichi Hirakawa; and concluding with an overview of modern art leading into the post-war period. A lecture by art critic Minoru Shimizu on Richter is also scheduled during the exhibition period. Concurrently, the exhibition "Yajuro Takashima: 50th Anniversary of Death" will also be held.
