Ajibō Group, Centered on Mutton Cuisine, Turns New Restaurant "Meiyō Ajibō" into an Art Space
Summary
The Ajibō Group, which operates restaurants specializing in mutton cuisine, is initiating an art space project at its new location, "Meiyō Ajibō," utilizing the venue's space. This project aims to fuse "gourmet food" (美食) and "fine art" (美術), creating an environment where contemporary art can be enjoyed alongside the dining experience. The representative of the Ajibō Group, Liang Baozhang, has a background as a painter in China and has primarily handled the spatial design for Ajibō's restaurants, meaning Meiyō Ajibō, located on the second floor of the TODA BUILDING in Kyobashi, was conceived from the start to incorporate art. Advancing this concept, the venue will begin exhibiting and selling works by artist Mugi Nakajima starting January 22nd, focusing on recent pieces that respond to the unique environment of a restaurant, with the company noting that art placed in such a "place closely connected to daily life" will be perceived more vividly and physically.
