「『make my day』」 ~ The 40th University Nihonga Exhibition ~ (UNPEL GALLERY)

Tokyo Art Beat
The exhibition "make my day" features works by three graduates from the Kanazawa College of Art Nihonga major at UNPEL GALLERY.

Summary

This exhibition, titled "make my day," showcases the work of three artists—Chihiro Kawasaki, Ayako Sakai, and Hiromi Yano—who recently completed their studies in the Nihonga major at the Kanazawa College of Art graduate school. The artists explore distinct themes: Kawasaki blends classical subjects with her own sensibility; Sakai focuses on the cherished aspects of the familiar, pursuing subtle colors and textures; and Yano captures the atmosphere and light of waterscapes using metallic foils. The title reflects the hope that their art, inspired by everyday encounters and observations, will make the viewer's day special. The exhibition is scheduled from January 31 to February 15, 2026, at UNPEL GALLERY in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, and admission is free.
