ART SG to Hold 4th Edition in Singapore, Strengthening Regional Collaboration with First Co-location with S.E.A. Focus
Summary
The 4th edition of ART SG, one of Southeast Asia's largest contemporary art fairs, will take place from January 23rd to 25th in Singapore. A major feature this year is the first-time co-location with S.E.A. Focus, a platform dedicated to Southeast Asian contemporary art. This integrated format, accessible via a single ticket, aims to foster exchange among artists, galleries, collectors, and institutions both within and outside the region. Organizers view this initiative as significantly elevating Singapore's role as a cultural hub. International galleries like White Cube and Thaddaeus Ropac are returning, alongside new participants, while leading Southeast Asian galleries will also be present. The co-located S.E.A. Focus, curated by John Z.W. Tong, will explore the theme "The Humane Agency," positioning artists as "agents of empathy" in response to contemporary issues like conflict, environmental crises, and transnational communities.
