The awards ceremony for the 32nd Nagato City Art Exhibition took place on Saturday, January 24th, at the Runessa Nagato Culture Information Gallery. This exhibition aims to promote and popularize art and improve citizen culture by soliciting works from residents and those working in the city. This year saw 75 submissions in the general division and 34 in the high school challenge division. Chief Judge Nobuo Shimose praised the freshness of the works and highlighted the event as a valuable opportunity for hobbyists, specifically commending the Mayor's Prize-winning calligraphy piece for its strength and masterful execution. The Grand Prize winner, Toshi Miyake (Calligraphy Division), expressed joy at winning and explained that his work used modern poetry expression, focusing on conveying emotion through ink bleeding and character size. The exhibition is free to enter and runs until Sunday, February 1st, at the Runessa Nagato Culture Information Gallery.
