The exhibition "Synchronous Constellation -- Stars Who Shared Time: The Gaze of Art Crossing Borders" has opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. Inspired by the documentary film about the "Windmill Poetry Society," a surrealist group from the Japanese colonial era in Taiwan, the show is curated by Huang Ya-li, Kanashima Takahiro, and Torigoe Mayu. It presents a vast collection of approximately 800 items from Taiwanese and Japanese art, literature, film, and more, arranged in a montage-like structure across six chapters. The exhibition aims to reconsider modernity from a "constellation" perspective, moving beyond linear historical narratives.
