The Yokohama Civic Gallery is hosting "New Artists Today 2026: Observation Point of Saturn's Rings" from September 12 to October 5, 2026. This exhibition continues the legacy of the "Artists Today" series (1964-2006), introducing contemporary expressions. The theme, derived from the phenomenon where Saturn's rings become invisible from Earth roughly every 15 years, examines how people sometimes fail to see one another. Through works by three young artists—Sareena Sattapon (born in Thailand, whose video installations visualize isolation and disparity), Eriko Tsuji (whose puppet-like videos explore gender, queer themes, and dialogue), and Taiki Yokote (who unearths stories from overlooked materials like dust and debris)—the exhibition seeks to uncover what contemporary society unconsciously overlooks and suggest ways of looking at others and society.
