Held at the Yokohama市民ギャラリーあざみ野 from October 10 to November 3, 2026, "Azamino Contemporary vol.17" is an exhibition themed around the relationship between suburban new towns, urban spaces, and people. Featuring keywords like "intrude," "trace," and "drag," it presents approximately 100 works, including video, installations, paintings, and photographs by seven artist groups. The various expressions "interfere" with each other to generate new relationships between cities and people. The exhibition also introduces archaeological excavation materials from the Akada Kofun Group, which once existed on the gallery's site, highlighting the layered nature of history and modern urban life. Artists such as Ishizaki Asako, Kawa, Taniyama Kyoco, Transfield Studio, Nakajima Haruya, Matsuda Osamu, and Yamaguchi Koji present works that explore themes of land, memory, bodily experience, and social issues from their unique perspectives.
