A new outdoor art project titled 'MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL Annex' is being held at the Panorama Plaza in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, from December 4th to 27th. Organized by the MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL Executive Committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the project reinterprets the annual theme 'Tachinoboru Kizashi' (Signs of Rising) of the Avex-hosted 'MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL 2026'. It aims to create spontaneous encounters with art not only for visitors who come specifically to see the works, but also for people who regularly use the park. The participating artists are Isomura Nuan, Yamauchi Shota, and Yonezawa Shin. Isomura presents a new video work 'STARS' depicting people playing with handheld fireworks. Yamauchi expands upon his 2026 performance installation 'In Between... Us?', where white structures resembling roots or skulls react to environmental sounds and visitor movements. Yonezawa debuts a new work 'Anima/Fossile', a huge wall surface carved with indentations that change appearance between day and night due to light. The project attempts to incorporate diverse relationships—including the park environment and passersby—into the art experience, beyond just the artists and viewers.
