The Kyoto Museum of Culture is hosting a special exhibition titled 'The Indestructible Power: Go Nagai — Go Nagai Memorial Museum Revival' from November 28, 2026, to January 11, 2027. The exhibition commemorates the recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Following the devastating earthquake and subsequent fire on January 1, 2024, the Go Nagai Memorial Museum in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, was completely burned down. However, due to fireproofing measures, 108 original drawings and figures were miraculously discovered and restored from within the charred building. With the full cooperation of Wajima City, the exhibition features restored large figures and original art of 'Mazinger Z', the damaged original drawing of 'Dante', works by the renowned manga artist Go Nagai, and a new, previously unpublished manga. The event aims to look towards the future and reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula and Wajima City. A talk show with Go Nagai and a symposium on disaster prevention education are also scheduled.
