The award ceremony for the 19th Minami-Nihon Junior Art Exhibition (organized by the Minami-Nihon Shimbun) was held on the 26th at the Minami-Nihon Shimbun headquarters in Kagoshima City. Awards and shields were presented to 23 winners of the Subaru Award and Excellence Awards, as well as to four schools and one kindergarten for the School Award. The top Minami-Nihon Shimbun Award was given to four individuals: Nokosuke Uemura (Wahata Kindergarten), Saihua Yukimaru (Awakubo Elementary School, 6th grade), Chika Komure (Shigetomi Junior High School, 2nd grade), and Aoi Fujisaki (Kagoshima Junshin Girls' High School, 3rd year). Komure's work involved painting on thin boards of different shapes and combining them to express mental landscapes, conveying emotions from daily life. Hiromu Hioki, a commissioned artist of the Minami-Nihon Art Exhibition, delivered the general review on behalf of the judging committee. The exhibition is being held at the Kagoshima City Art Museum until 4:00 PM on the 27th.
