The solo exhibition "Yu Matsumoto: Image of You" has opened at the Kurobe City Museum of Art in Toyama Prefecture. Yu Matsumoto is an artist known for her meticulous lithographs, created through a unique process of researching news stories and legal cases to empathize with those involved by projecting them onto her own image.
This exhibition showcases nearly all of her works, ranging from her early student pieces to her most recent creations. Organized into eight thematic sections—such as "Narrative and Printmaking," "News and Printmaking," and "Court and Printmaking"—the exhibition highlights how Matsumoto has expanded her creative boundaries while using everyday events and social issues as her central themes.
