[Tokyo] "What Time Is It Now?—Koyama Yukitai and Tamayama Takuro" Exhibition
Summary
The exhibition "What Time Is It Now?—Koyama Yukitai and Tamayama Takuro" will be held at Shiseido Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, from November 3, 2026, to February 28, 2027. It brings together two artists separated by roughly 100 years: Koyama Yukitai, an artist active from the Taisho era into the early Showa period, and Tamayama Takuro, a contemporary artist who creates installations combining light, video, and sound. Their expressions meet across time, opening Koyama's perspective into the present. The exhibition features new installations by Tamayama inspired by Koyama's works and ideas as well as the Ginza streetscape of that era, along with three works by Koyama from Shiseido's collection and period footage and materials related to Ginza. Admission is free. Opening hours are 11:00–19:00 on weekdays and 11:00–18:00 on Sundays and holidays. The gallery is closed on Mondays (including national holidays) and from December 21 to January 11.
