Mika Ninagawa with EiM Returns to TOKYO NODE After 3 Years: New Work-Centered Large-Scale Exhibition "Desired World, and What Disappears" to Open in 2027
Summary
Mika Ninagawa and EiM—a creative team including scientist and artistic director Hiroaki Miyata and specialists from various fields—will present a new large-scale exhibition, "Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Desired World, and What Disappears Still, we are longing," at TOKYO NODE in Toranomon, Tokyo, from April 29 to September 26, 2027. It marks their first TOKYO NODE exhibition in about three years since "Mika Ninagawa Exhibition Eternity in a Moment," held from December 2023 to February 2024, which drew more than 250,000 visitors over 81 days. Since then, EiM has been active in Japan and abroad, including "Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Light of the Beyond, Shadow of This World" at Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art (2025) and a large-scale solo exhibition, "Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Alive with Shadows," scheduled at the Grand Palais in Paris from December 16, 2025. The upcoming show is positioned as EiM's "second chapter" following these activities, taking as its theme the changing era and world and the different wishes people hold. Living in the same era while holding different values and ideals, the exhibition asks what becomes invisible and whose wishes go unheard when someone's desired world is realized, turning attention not only to the beauty each person is drawn to but also to what lies outside it. The venue is TOKYO NODE GALLERY A/B/C on the 45th floor of Toranomon Hills Station Tower, and the exhibition will center on new works. Details of works and ticket information will be announced later.
