The exhibition traces the journey of Japanese women artists from the modern to contemporary era, using the collection of the Nirazaki Omura Art Museum (Yamanashi Prefecture) as its core. The museum's collection primarily features graduates of Joshibi University of Art and Design (formerly Joshibi School of Fine and Applied Arts), founded in 1900 when opportunities for women in art education were extremely limited.
