Summary
The Kanagawa Prefectural Kanazawa-Bunko Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled "Enjoying Buddhist Art with National Treasures—A World of Rare and Curious Treasures—" from September 18 to November 8, 2026, commemorating the donation of the Shibata Collection by Yoshiaki Shibata. The exhibition features medieval Buddhist icons, devotional images, and elaborately decorated works, along with unique and rare sculptural pieces from the collection. It also displays cultural properties associated with Shōmyō-ji Temple, including the National Treasure "Shōmyō-ji Shōgyō." Admission is 500 yen for ages 20 and over, 300 yen for under 20 and students, 200 yen for ages 65 and over, and 100 yen for high school students. Opening hours are 9:00–16:30 (last admission 16:00). The museum is closed on Mondays (except October 12), October 13, and November 4.
