Summary
This special exhibition commemorates the 110th anniversary of the death of Tanaka Yoshio (1838–1916), a promoter of industrial development in modern Japan and known as the "Father of Japanese Museums." His life was part of the history of academic formation in modern Japan and, above all, the history of the establishment of museums and expositions in Japan. Through approximately 200 materials, including recently donated items related to world expositions that Tanaka helped organize, the exhibition explores the rich world of knowledge he created. The exhibition runs from October 10 to November 15, 2026, with admission at 500 yen for general visitors and other rates.
