【Opening】"International Art Exhibition TOKYO ATLAS" at Various Venues in Tokyo's Bay Area from October 10 to December 20: A Large-Scale International Art Festival Launches in Tokyo, Including Yayoi Kusama's Last Coordinated Work, Free Art Tour
Summary
The international art exhibition "TOKYO ATLAS" will be held from October 10 to December 20, 2026, in Tokyo's bay area (Odaiba, Aomi, and Tennozu). A press preview and opening ceremony took place on the 8th, where Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike declared the opening. The exhibition features works by numerous artists, including the last coordinated work by avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama, who recently passed away, and a world-first attempt to combine two of her balloon works. Venues include Odaiba Park, Odaiba Marine Park, Telecom Center Building, Aomi Minami Futo Park and its underground parking lot, Isle Shinagawa, and WHAT MUSEUM. Admission is free (some programs require a fee). Participating artists include Zhao Yao, Leiko Ikemura, Akiko Miki, Haroon Mirza, Yuji Takeoka, Yuriko Sasaoka, and Keita Mori, among others from Japan and abroad. The underground parking lot venue, unused for 30 years since the cancellation of the World City Expo in 1995, is being used for an art festival for the first time. Additionally, "ARTE TOKYO" will also start this autumn, further enlivening Tokyo's cultural art scene.
