Kyoto City is hosting the 66th Public Sign Art Exhibition. This exhibition is a competition where advertising-related companies demonstrate their appeal, creativity, and technical skills based on a set theme. The theme for this edition is "World Masters Games 2027 Kansai." The World Masters Games is one of the world's largest international multi-sport events for lifelong sports, organized by the International Masters Games Association (IMGA) headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is open to anyone generally aged 30 and over, and this will be the first time it is held in Japan, specifically in the Kansai region. The event will take place on October 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and November 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Okazaki Park (Okazaki Promenade) in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City. Admission is free and no advance registration is required. The event includes an opening ceremony with greetings from the organizer and a ribbon-cutting by related parties, an exhibition of art signs created by businesses from the Kinki region (2 prefectures and 4 prefectures) based on the theme, and judging by experts and administrative representatives to select winning works. The organizer is the Kinki Outdoor Advertising Art Association (host: Kyoto Prefecture Advertising Art Cooperative), and co-organizers are Kyoto Prefecture and Kyoto City.
