Ferragamo Shows Florence Museum Collection in Tokyo, Including Warhol-Owned Shoes and a Bag Based on a Yayoi Kusama Drawing
Summary
Italian fashion brand Ferragamo will display its Museo Ferragamo collection from Florence in Tokyo, commemorating the 160th anniversary of Japan-Italy diplomatic relations. During Art Week Tokyo 2026, from November 6 to 8, a special exhibition will be held at the Italian Ambassador's residence, open only to VIP guests by advance reservation. From November 9 to December 22, the exhibition will move to the Ferragamo Ginza flagship store for public viewing. The display includes shoes once owned by Andy Warhol and a tote bag named "Marisa" featuring embroidery based on a drawing by Yayoi Kusama. The ambassador's residence also holds works by postwar Italian artists such as Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Piero Dorazio, and Enrico Castellani, which will be shown alongside the Ferragamo Museum pieces to highlight the connections between art, fashion, and craftsmanship.
