小森はるか＋瀬尾夏美＋Project Members 《I Was 11 Years Old: Hiroshima Edition》

As part of its "Collection Exhibition 2026-II," Hiroshima MOCA is presenting "I Was 11 Years Old: Hiroshima Edition" (2023–) by 小森はるか + 瀬尾夏美 + project members. Since the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, 小森はるか and 瀬尾夏美 have visited regions affected by natural disasters and wars, recording people's stories and landscapes, and have come to believe that experiences around age 11 can significantly shape one's subsequent life. This project is an attempt to inherit the memories of individuals living in contemporary Hiroshima through collaboration with workshop participants. Beginning with an exhibition at the museum in 2023, approximately 40 people aged from their teens to their nineties have been interviewed, and production continues. Through the aggregation of personal narratives across generations, a polyphonic regional history emerges. Booklets and interview videos are planned to be added during the exhibition period. The exhibition runs from October 17, 2026 to January 24, 2027 at the Hiroshima MOCA Media Library, with free admission.
