The Architecture Museum in Tokyo will host the exhibition "the lives of ephemeral form: Recording the Uncertain Lives of Architecture" as a 140th-anniversary project of the Architectural Institute of Japan, running from October 2 to 8, 2026. The exhibition focuses not only on architecture itself but also on the films, VHS tapes, photographs, and drawings that have recorded it, which can be lost due to media deterioration and the disappearance of playback environments. It is the first phase of a two-year program engaging with the act of recording alongside exhibitors, featuring displays, screenings, talks, guided tours, and public working sessions by exhibitors and curators. Exhibitors include Aoyama Michino, Kanemaki Takehiko, Takano Yurika, Shiozaki Takanobu + Kobayashi Saeko, Shinoda Yu, and Book Shop Boys. Curators are Katsuragawa Dai and Inagaki Haruka. The talk program runs from October 2 to 7 with five sessions featuring film artist Suzuki Nonoho, art theorist Hirakura Kei, architect Ogura Tatsuro, and others. The screening program includes seven programs (A–G), featuring Matsumoto Toshio and "Radical Landscapes." The venue is the Architecture Museum galleries and courtyard, open 10:00–17:00, free admission, no reservation required. Organized by the Architectural Institute of Japan.
