The Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, celebrating its third anniversary since renewal, presents its 2026 collection exhibition under the annual theme "Museum Time," divided into three chapters. The second installment, titled "Chapter 2: Bundles of Time," runs from October 10, 2026, to January 24, 2027. The exhibition considers how multiple temporalities overlap within a single artwork: connections between different eras born from referencing and responding to past works and expressions; the time of works passing from person to person, place to place, preserved and restored; and the time of the museum's activities accumulated through exhibitions and collection. The display is organized into four sections: "1. Citation and Response," "2. Time Held by Works," "Intermission," and "3. The Hiroshima Prize and the Theme 'Hiroshima' Thus Far." Artists include Tadanori Yokoo, Yasumasa Morimura, Marcel Duchamp, Kurt Schwitters, Iri and Toshi Maruki, Genpei Akasegawa, Haruka Komori + Natsumi Seo, Nancy Spero, and Shirin Neshat. Admission is 350 yen for general visitors; the collection exhibition is free on the third Sunday of each month, and all galleries are free on November 3. Concurrent exhibitions include Mel Chin, Chieo Senzaki, Koki Hirai, a Bratislava picture book exhibition, and "Art Birdwatching."
