International Art Exhibition "TOKYO ATLAS" Offering Cruises Around Odaiba, Oi, and Tennozu | Tokyo Metropolitan Government
Summary
"TOKYO ATLAS" is an international art exhibition held in Tokyo's waterfront area from October 10 to December 20 as a core program of ARTE TOKYO, organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In the Odaiba area, Leiko Ikemura presents "Moon Rabbit Landing," a 6-meter-tall giant rabbit sculpture at the entrance of Tokyo Bay, illuminated at night. In the Oi area, Yayoi Kusama's two large balloon works are exhibited together for the first time worldwide, including "A Bouquet of Love I Went to See in the Universe," making its Japanese debut. At Oi South Pier Park, French performance artist Abraham Poincheval presents "La Bouteille," in which he lives inside a giant bottle, while a normally inaccessible 197.5-meter underground parking space is also specially opened for installations. In the Tennozu area, video and installation works are displayed at Aire Shinagawa. A related project titled "Zahyō" (Coordinates) runs at WHAT MUSEUM from October 10 to December 20 with free admission. During the exhibition period, ARTE TOKYO CRUISE operates mainly on weekends and holidays with about four daily departures connecting Odaiba Beach Park to Tennozu Pier, with one-way adult tickets at 1,500 yen. General admission is free, with some paid programs available.
