【Shiga】Shiga Museum of Art Project: Contemporary Art Exhibition in Kohoku, "KUNCHO ME: A Lullaby of One Million Years"
Summary
The Shiga Museum of Art is launching its new three-year touring project, "ASK (Art Spot in Kohoku)," focusing on the northern region (Kohoku) of Lake Biwa, starting with the contemporary art exhibition "KUNCHO ME: A Lullaby of One Million Years." The exhibition features works, including new pieces, by the art unit KUNCHO ME, who liken the eternal presence of Lake Biwa to a "lullaby of one million years." KUNCHO ME, formed in 2011 by Eri Homma and Nabuchi, explores new forms of love and well-being beyond anthropocentrism through video, installation, and performance. The exhibition runs from February 21 to April 19, 2026, held free of charge across three historic houses in the Omizo area of Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture. Several related events, including workshops and artist talks, are also scheduled.
