The special exhibition 'The World of Picture Books Connected Forever — Kaiseisha Children's Book Exhibition —' will be held at the Kobe Fashion Museum in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the children's book publisher Kaiseisha, which was founded in 1936. The exhibition will run from June 20 to August 30. It will showcase works from Kaiseisha's catalog that have been read across generations, including 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' (translated by Morihisa), the 'Nontan' series by Kiyono Sachiko, 'The Little Red Hen' by Kako Satoshi, the '100 Story House' series by Iwai Toshio, and the 'Fushigi Dagashiya Senjutou' series by Hiroshima Reiko (illustrated by jyajya). In addition to the finished books, the exhibition will display original art, reproductions, rough sketches, editorial materials, records of interactions with authors, and videos. Through these materials, visitors can trace the background behind the creation of children's books, revealing the backstage of publication and the creative process. The exhibition space is designed to encourage a 'see, read, and feel' experience. It features large-scale picture books and photo spots, as well as an area themed after 'Senjutou'. Additionally, a 'Picture Book Plaza' will be set up with approximately 200 children's books published by Kaiseisha, allowing families to stay and read the books together.
