Ariake Art Exhibition at Fukuoka/Omuta Cultural Hall: 122 Works Including Oil Paintings and Sculptures on Display

The 44th Ariake Art Exhibition, sponsored by the Nishinippon Shimbun and others, opened on the 26th at the Denka Omuta Cultural Hall in Omuta City, Oita Prefecture. The exhibition features 122 outstanding works from six categories created by artists from the Ariake region. Works were submitted from Omuta City and Arao City in Kumamoto Prefecture, as well as Miyama City, Yanagawa City, Tamana City, and Nagasu Town in the same prefecture. The breakdown by category includes 36 works in oil painting and sculpture, 5 in Japanese painting, 26 in photography, 33 in calligraphy, 8 in dyeing and weaving, and 14 in ceramics. On the 30th, gallery talks will be held where exhibitors share their thoughts, scheduled for 11:00 AM (calligraphy), 1:00 PM (oil painting and Japanese painting), and 2:15 PM (photography). The exhibition is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4:00 PM on the final day) and admission is free.
