Referring to the 15th–18th century European Kunst- und Wunderkammer, the exhibition asks what a Room of Marvels might mean in contemporary Osaka, and unfolds each artist’s overwhelming quantity and distinct expression as three forms of excess. At the entrance, a sculptural work resembling a collaboration by the three serves as a prologue, indicating that the exhibition is a joint performance while declaring that each artist upholds a separate banner from the same site. Based in the Kansai region and active internationally, the three maintain distinct positions even as they share the same space, suggesting what a museum of perishing might look like beyond excessive presentation. The exhibition runs until July 20.
