【Tokyo】Japan Sign Design Association 60th Anniversary "Grand Sign Exhibition"
Summary
The "Grand Sign Exhibition" commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Japan Sign Design Association (SDA) is currently being held at Tokyo Midtown Design Hub. As the social environment surrounding sign design has changed significantly, its scope and social role have expanded beyond traditional guides, directional signs, and billboards. Today, sign design serves as a connection between people and people, people and places, and people and society in various settings such as cities, architecture, public spaces, commercial environments, and cultural activities. This exhibition examines the role and evolutionary trajectory of sign design through the timeline of "Past, Present, and Future" and looks ahead to its possibilities. The exhibition runs from April 24, 2026, to June 7, 2026, and is free to enter. Related events include a symposium titled "Diversity and Possibilities of SIGN: Redefining the Future" on May 22 and a series of relay seminars titled "Multidisciplinary Research on SIGN: A Continuous Program Opening Up the Future" from May to June.
