The Komatsu Art Exhibition "Komatsu no Bi" is currently being held at Science Hills Komatsu in Komatsu City. On the 10th, explanations of the works by the exhibiting artists were given. As it was the last Sunday before the exhibition closed, the venue was bustling with visitors enjoying a dialogue with art while listening to explanations from local artists. Komatsumi Fumio, Vice Chairman of the Japan Painting Association, pointed out that "composition is important in Japanese painting. Since themes and expression methods differ by artist, it is interesting to consider how one would paint it if one were the artist while viewing the work." Kitazawa Nakako, Executive Director of Photography, conveyed the secret to improvement, stating, "The only way is to photograph what moved you and simply keep pressing the shutter to practice." Fukuuyama Atsuko, Director of Western Painting, and Miyamoto Naoki, Executive Director of Sculpture, also provided explanations. The exhibition runs until the 12th, with an admission fee of 500 yen for adults and free for high school students and under.
