45th Anniversary Pingu Comes to Yurakucho. "Not Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition" Opens at New Spot YURAKUCHO MUSEUM

A new exhibition space, YURAKUCHO MUSEUM, opened on July 10th on the B1 floor of the Tokyo International Forum in Yurakucho, Tokyo. To celebrate its opening, the museum is hosting the "Not Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition" until September 6th.
The theme of the exhibition is "Amusement Park," serving as an homage to Swiss animator Otmar Gutmann, who passed away at age 56 during the production of the episode "Pingu's Amusement Park" in 1993. This unfinished episode was eventually completed by Japanese animator Seiji Koto.
Pingu, a stop-motion animation created by Otmar Gutmann, will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2025. The exhibition offers viewers a chance to explore the history of the beloved character, which has been broadcast in over 155 countries and regions.
