The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in Ebisu, Tokyo, will host the exhibition “Duet – Asian Contemporary” from September 30, 2024, to January 17, 2027. This is the second installment in a series following the 2018 “Love – Asian Contemporary” exhibition, co-curated by Tang Qingyun, Executive Director of the Three Shadows Photography Art Center in Xiamen, China, and Takahiro Ito, a curator at the museum. The exhibition features six artists: two from Japan (Muraoka Toshiyasu and fumiko imano) and four from China (Wang Tuo, Sui Ta, Luo Yang, and Jiang Pengyi), with all four Chinese artists making their debut in a Japanese public museum. The show explores themes of cultural intersection and shared experiences through photography and video. Related events include an international symposium on October 3 with Professor Gu Zhen from Fudan University and a sign-language Q&A session on December 12.
